This is a traditional style house, quite spacious, with one bedroom with 2 beds and one tatami bedroom with futon beds + living room and kitchen, and one bathroom with separate toiled. All beds/futons were quite comfortable.
It was very cold but the air conditioning sufficed.
The house had natural light during the day and cozy lights with diffetent intensity setups, it was big (especially for us 4 people), clean, and the kitchen was well equipped.
Very noisy during the day due to, I think, the generator of the nearby house. This stopped at night but was bothersome in the mornings.
There were exit light signs that were bothering us through the thin paper doors, I understand regulations require them but the intensity was disturbing for someone who likes to sleep in complete darkness.
The kitchen table was worn out and it looked like something had been burnt there.
It was overall clean but found crumbs and old food bits under the dining table and some of the AC units were not clean.
The area is close to some nice things like the pampas field or mount Ashigara trail but there was not much to do around, we hardly found restaurants available in evenings or other things to do after sunset.
The hosts were completely inflexible, we had planned to hike in the area and were in desperate need of luggage storage for 3 hrs after checkout, they bluntly refused to help and directed us to station lockers (closest were 30 mins away in the opposite direction of the trail). The property has a very large, unutilized, yard and we simply wanted to leave 3 suitcases there on the side of the house - every suggestion or request was rejected. Luckily we found someone nice in a restaurant who helped and kept our trollers in their garage, otherwise we would have missed a beautiful hike and would have left completely disappointed with Hakone.
Our impression is that Japanese people usually follow rules and will not go beyond their way to help someone else, but some flexibility and an act of kindness goes a long way, especially when dealing with tourists from other cultures.

Property was very clean & had all the facilities you need. Host was very nice & answered questions promptly
Amazing location, the sky views in the afternoon are stunning.
If being picky, there was an issue with the toilet's smart function- which meant there was a water leak from somewhere under the toilet whenever using the smart function. We had to leave the room to dry after using. However again, for the price you pay- you cannot complain. The property overall offers excellent value for money

The property was spacious and comfortable, my family enjoyed a relaxing stay.
It was also easy to communicate with our host who responded very promptly
While exploring the neighbourhood, we found nice places to eat at and we enjoyed our visit to the Botanic Garden.
Could have been better if there was a lock on the bedroom doors
