Louisa was a very warm and welcoming host. Really appreciated Louisa letting us check in two hours ahead and also checking out later. That was very accommodating.
She very kindly left milk and teacakes for us which was a very nice surprise! Very responsive and answered all my questions prior and during our stay. Loved the location, size of lounge, great light bedrooms and overall very comfortable and cosy house. Nice big TV too!
Whilst the house was clean it felt as though it had seen better days and could have done with freshening up. The sofas looked tired, the curtains in the lounge were hanging by a thread, the kitchen was great but felt a little sticky but appreciate the house is old so hard to clean. Didn't bother me but my friends would have preferred a working dishwasher but it was under repair and we were advised in advance.
The biggest issue however was the musty and stained bedlinen in the small bedroom. I felt so bad as my friend endured a bad night due to the smell and didn't sleep on the first night. The bedlinen in all the other bedrooms also were just about acceptable but could have really done with fresher sets. We were disappointed with the towels. Again, they had seen better days and were very old and scratchy and the hand towel in the bathroom smelt very musty so I just went out and bought a new one and a bath towel for myself too.
I have to applaud Louisa for her swift response re the issue with the especially musty bedlinen in the small bedroom. She was extremely sorry and came over with fresh bedlinen that day and changed it. She also very sweetly left my friend a box of chocs which was a very lovely gesture.
The only other thing that made our stay a little tricky was the bathroom. The shower in the bath provided lots of hot water but it was so dangerous trying to get out of it as the platform it was on was so narrow so stepping out was pretty scary. It did affect our stay as we didn't want to use it but had no choice. The bathroom felt a little neglected and could have done with a towel rail. But it had been taken off and scews just left on the wall which showed lack of care.

Location is excellent. You can park your car in the driveway. It is walking distance from the town centre.
The road outside quite busy. The house have no double glazing windows. So it is a bit noisy.

Very comfortable, deceptively large house. Excellent location within walking distance of the city centre. Excellent communication from the host who provided helpful local information.
Would benefit from a second bathroom, however we knew it was a period property with one family bathroom when booking.
