I stayed at Hotel Ambience on my birthday, and Stephanie was so amazing and informative,I requested a taxi 30 minutes before my arrival with no expectation if it will be arranged and was so happy that the driver greeted me at the train station. I checked in at around 4pm and Stephanie made sure I have all information I need, and prepared the sauna and whirlpool experience for me, their sauna is a great experience with its own bath, leisure area with coffee and tea. They also have a room with security pass if you leave your luggage after check out and wants to explore Zermatt for the day which is very conveniet with shower and locker options. Their breakfast is also great with many variants to choose from I love the soup and breads especially. Plus I got a room upgrade with balcony matterhorn view for 20CHF! I love how modern the room is and cozy at the same time,I'd definitely come back and I also ask recommendation for my birthday dinner from Stephanie and the restaurant she recommended turns out so lovely and she also happily share the restaurant's history and the best food to eat on the said restaurant. Thank you to Stephanie and the entire Hotel Ambience for making my stay and my birthday feel so special!!

The room was spacious and had a great view of the Matterhorn. Staff was very kind and helpful. Their breakfast had a great selection of food. The hot tub was a great way to wind down after hiking.

The staff were the highlight. They were friendly and helpful, and gave us good tips on the falls. Breakfast was pretty good. The team let me use the sauna outside its set hours, and they worked to recover my glasses when I lost them. I appreciated that effort.
We paid extra for the Matterhorn-view balcony room. From our first-floor room, the view was partly spoiled by a large crane and a building with red covering at the lower right, so it was not what we paid for.
We woke up with back pain throughout our stay, possibly because of the mattress.
The CHF 20 taxi pickup on arrival was poorly handled. I told the hotel I only had a data plan, and they suggested WhatsApp, but no one answered my calls or messages despite several attempts. We then couldn't tell which taxi was ours. The people I asked had limited English and couldn't help, and it took about 15 minutes to find our driver. After several hours on the train, we didn't need that hassle to start our stay.
My glasses were inside my checkout robe, which went into the laundry. The hotel recovered them, but the lenses were damaged. Housekeeping could check robe pockets before laundering.
The lighting in our room was too dim, and we struggled a bit.
The tissue box in the room was dusty, though the rest of the room looked acceptable.
