The hotel is located in a pleasant, predominantly residential neighbourhood, with several good-quality restaurants situated around a spacious open square nearby. Most of Palermo's main attractions are within comfortable walking distance. Approaching the Bastione Spasimo Hotel through its large, imposing metal doors, it is not immediately obvious that you have arrived at a hotel. Once inside, however, you are greeted by a secluded garden oasis that feels worlds away from the surrounding city.
The rooms are quiet and comfortable, although somewhat compact. For example, Room 6 offered limited space, making it difficult to open two suitcases on the floor, and we had to squeeze past the television to get to the standard double bed.

All the staff were fantastic. Very helpful with where to go and what to do and meeting our needs.
The property is a mini oasis in a gritty vibrant city.
One of the best boutique hotels we have stayed in.
Breakfast was fresh and home made and truly exceptional.
Beautifully maintained gardens & pool area.
Sometimes we were a little short of things in our room like coffee, milk pots, hand wash, just a tiny detail guests appreciate. Any time we asked for anything it was provided immediately.

This hotel is a bit mixed. Some staff were good, others not so good. The location is handy for many things (e.g. the Botanic Gardens and the station), but the immediate locale is a bit dodgy.
Housekeeping was poor, and the rooms were unattractive and under-furnished.
