The room was one of the largest we stayed in during our trip to Scotland. The hotel’s location is excellent—right in the city center—with easy access from the central station and numerous bus lines. There are supermarkets and restaurants in the immediate vicinity.
In fact, the room was so spacious that we felt it was a shame there wasn't a seating area with a table facing the TV; that would have been great, and there was certainly room for it. The housekeeper we met was very nice!
It is recommended to install a safe in the room. The entrance is shared by several businesses.

Great Location. Rooms are clean. Easy access to room.
We paid for a Deluxe double room. When we arrived we had been allocated a standard twin room. It's a self service hotel where you get your room allocation by email and they tell you the code to a keybox at check in time. We were not forewarned that our room had been downgraded until we got the key and opened the door when we arrived in the evening.
I called the hotel number and spoke to Michael who did apologise but told me they had no other rooms and there was nothing they could do. He offered breakfast at the cafe downstairs in the morning, but this was already included anyway. I would have expected a partial refund at the very least for the lesser room!
Contacted booking.com to address this issue, but they "couldn't reach a resolution with the hotel".
It's a shame, because the hotel was otherwise good. Easy to get to, good central location, well presented rooms, just not the room we paid for.
