Das Olienhoff Guesthouse in einer ehemaligen Farm mit wunderschönem, liebevoll gepflegten Garten, liegt am Rande von Otavi, gleich neben der Kreuzung von B1 und B8 - für Durchreisende ideal gelegen. Der Empfang war sehr herzlich, wir haben uns sofort wohl gefühlt. Die Gastgeber Giel und Annie haben sich sehr um unser Wohl bemüht und uns auch viel über das ländliche Leben der vor Jahrhunderten ausgewanderten Europäer (und deren Nachkommen) erzählt.
Wir hatten ein geräumiges Zimmer. Es gab nicht nur bequeme Betten, sondern auch ein grosses und zweckmässig eingerichtetes Badezimmer.
Frühstück und Nachtessen (auf Vorbestellung) waren sehr gut und wurden uns auf der schönen Gartenterrasse serviert.
Kostenlose Parkplätze waren auf dem Areal genügend vorhanden und durch ein Gittertor gesichert.

The owner lady is very kind and supportive. The place is clean and quiet, giving peace of mind, listening to bird's sound, opportunity to listen and talk to yourself. This place is more like relaxing with friends without many options for activities.
There is no food service unless you discuss and agree in advance with the owner. This place is suitable for self-catering, so the guests need to keep their food and drink stuffs, medicines etc. in their bags before reaching the rest camp. The owner/staff can support you for some crockeries if required.

The location looked nice, the tent was new and looked comfy as did the bathroom. The overall vibe was calm and familiar... I felt a bit like an intruder as the tents are loacted on the private property.
The tent was nice, the bathroom was quaint and the hosts were very nice and hospitable. I even got hot water for tea. The brakfast that was offered was delicious.
The toilet did not flush and I was asked to fix it.
There is no kettle in the tent - but I got water while the hosts were there.
The bed was on the very hard side and as it was 'cold' I needed both blankets.
