We loved the convenience of the hotel to the Vatican as we spent a lot of time on that side of the Tiber (Janiculum Hill, Trastevere), but it was a reasonable walk to every other ancient site we wanted to visit (our second Rome trip). If your're there to shop, it's on the Via dei Coronari, where a lot of really neat stores are located. We loved the nondescript entrance with a short stair-climb. There were baked goods left on the table in the dining space every morning, coffee in the common galley kitchen. The room fridge was stocked with goodies as well. The room and bath were small, but just fine for a base. Alina, our host, was prompt and helpful on WhatsApp for all questions. She also found someone to drive us to FCO at 0430!
