We arrived late at night. The neighborhood looked unsafe with grafitti all over the buildings and someone had put a broken down bed on the curb across the street. The lobby looked dingy and dark. Our room was fairly large but looked like something out of the 50s and 60s. I was horrified and even called Expedia. The next morning i realized the very positive aspects. The room was spotless, we had a beautiful private terrace outside and the bed was super comfy. The decor was actually bohemian and turned out to be charming. We went to breakfast and had a delicious meal with freshly cooked eggs, fresh pastries and fresh fruits. We were told the area is under renovation and will soon be much better. The staff were friendly, attentive, and eager to help in any way. We were close to restaurants and shops right around the corner. If we ever come back to Paris i would stay there again! Talk about wrong first impressions!!!

Loved everything about our stay. Great service and atmosphere. Ruben made us feel so welcome and he went out of his way to help with reservations and great conversations. Highly recommend this beautiful family-owned hotel and the 11th arrondissement. We hope to be back!

Not super pleased with this stay, especially for the cost. Location was very good and the staff onsite as helpful, although there wasn't much they could do to help with my issues.
We decided to pay more for a king suite, and the room we received was dark and dingy, with a carpeted floor (why?). I caught a glimpse into other (CHEAPER) rooms and they were much brighter. The room was clean but the bathroom had a layer of dust on the wainscotting and dirt on the walls.
Here's what I'm really displeased about: the rooms are advertised as soundproofed which is a full lie and needs to be removed immediately. We heard EVERYTHING in our room -- people coming up and down the stairs, every sound of people walking above, doors opening and closing, hair dryers and even people speaking in quiet voices in the next room. I was very displeased about this since it's the reason I booked the hotel in the first place.
When I complained, I couldn't change rooms since the hotel was full. Staff said they would get in touch with the manager, who wrote to me via email. I have replied 3 times since and not heard a word back.
