We had a great stay at Alpenlodge. The rooms were spacious, very clean, and well maintained, and the property itself was in excellent condition.
A couple of things could be improved. The reservation website did not clearly mention that the rooms do not have air conditioning. While the nights were comfortable during our stay, I can imagine the rooms getting quite warm during hotter periods. Also, the spa was not available unless we specifically asked the staff to prepare it, and it was only available after 4:00 PM, which was a bit inconvenient.
The location is good, but the hotel is situated uphill from Zermatt’s main street, so the walk back to the hotel involves a noticeable climb. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend it for its clean, comfortable rooms and pleasant atmosphere.

Fantastic property. What a treat to be waking up to the view of Matterhorn outside your window. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious, down to specialty coffee, and we even got advice on the hikes we were considering:) We loved our stay at Alpenlodge!

location was great, staff was nice, food was good. The spa was very basic and not at all a place you would want to spend any time. So if looking for a great hotel w no spa amenities, this hotel is great!

Beautiful all around! The room faced the Matterhorn as promised. Felt safe and at home the finishing, mostly hand crafted were amazing. Only advice I’d give is to take a taxi from the train station. It’s not a 15 minute walk as google will tell you. It’s a strenuous uphill hike. If you have luggage it’s very hard if you’re not used to higher altitudes. But it did not detract from the experience!
