Chic and clean and comfortable; Modern and understated. I loved the dark blue carpet and dark blue walls that made me feel like a was sleeping inside a blueberry. I even liked the bathtub in the room, but some might find this a bit odd.
One night there was a lot of banging from upstairs and you could hear people tramping loudly up the stairs. Not a deal breaker though.

As an Architect, I appreciated the really appealing, cohesive and thoughtful interior design, and the adaptive re-use of an existing building, knitted into the older city fabric.
The bed was very comfy, the bedding was crisp and clean and the quality and thoroughness of the room servicing was outstanding. The ‘projector’ type TV was a nice way to watch shows in large, projected format, after a day exploring the city.
Lovely reception staff, who didnt hesitate with the unpleasant but necessary task of evicting a party of loud, boorish guests after one obnoxious night.
As an Architect, it was also a little frustrating that the prioritising of the clarity and “purity” of the interior design resulted in the omission of a few of the less sexy hotel room facilities - eg. a dedicated place to put luggage or vanity shelf in the bathroom to place sponge bags etc. That said, the cleaning staff did an amazing job, each day, of restoring stylish cool from “exploded-luggage” chaos!

The hotel has a pretty good location and a nice, stylish design, which were definitely positives. Unfortunately, there were quite a few issues during our stay that made the experience less enjoyable.
If you’re looking for a room with natural sunlight, this may not be the place for you — our rooms were extremely dark. There was also a constant smell of cigarettes coming from the terrace below, which was quite unpleasant.
We booked three rooms, and unfortunately, the safes were not working in any of them/were already locked. The top-floor room also had a noticeable sewage smell. At night, there was quite a lot of noise coming from neighbouring rooms, including loud music and, on one occasion, very clearly audible intimate noises.
What was most disappointing, however, was being charged upon check out for damage that we did not cause. As a gesture of goodwill, we paid the charge despite disputing it, but the staff were unwilling to reconsider the matter in the slightest or even meaningfully discuss our concerns. This left a particularly bad impression and was very frustrating.
Sadly, I would not return or recommend.
