We planned a four-day, three-night trip to Crete and compared several hotels before finally deciding to stay here.
When we arrived, we were about 30 minutes late because of a delay with the car rental company. However, the host was very patient, waited for us, and welcomed us warmly.
The view from the apartment was amazing, with a beautiful sea view. The only minor downside was that there were buildings blocking part of the view on both sides, but the views from both the living room and the bedroom were still fantastic.
The host had prepared some local fruit wine and snacks for us. Unfortunately, I don't drink alcohol, so I couldn't try the wine, but the snacks were delicious.
Although breakfast wasn't included, the host thoughtfully provided plenty of bread, different kinds of jam, butter, coffee, tea, and drinking water.
I also cooked my own meals here, and since the kitchen was fully equipped, it felt almost like cooking at home. The host even provided cooking oil, salt, and vinegar.
The location was also excellent. During our four-day stay, we visited several beaches around the island. Apart from the famous pink sand beach, which took about an hour and a half to reach, all the other beautiful beaches we visited were within a 30-minute drive. There were also plenty of convenient food options nearby, and our Wolt orders usually arrived in around 20 minutes.
Another thoughtful touch was that there were beach toys for children and beach mats in the common area. It was really convenient to let the kids choose what they wanted to take with them when heading out.
The shared area also had a nice place to relax. It wasn't very big, but it was comfortable and pleasant.
Something interesting happened during our stay, too. At around 10 p.m. on our first night, we heard the sound of a child falling and crying. The noise continued for almost 15 minutes, and since it was disturbing our rest, we eventually contacted the host to report it.
Because of the beautiful views, our room had three large windows, which affected the soundproofing to some extent. The floors are also a bit thin, so we could hear chairs being dragged around upstairs or downstairs.
Although the location is excellent, it's still in the city, just in a more out-of-the-way area, so we could hear motorcycles from downstairs.
If you're looking for the peace and quiet of a hotel out in the countryside, this might not be your first choice. But if you're looking for somewhere safe, comfortable, conveniently located, and offering great value for money, this place is definitely worth considering.

Super easy. We had travel delay due to weather and the host remained contactable right until 11pm and made sure we had arrived safely and able to access the apartment with keys left in a lock box. Instructions were clear and easy to follow. Access to the apartment was easy with a large lift. The apartment was extremely well appointed with some breakfast items and basic cooking items (oil, salt, pepper, vinegar and some coffee!). Vies were spectacular - would happily come back to stay at Thalia. Mixalis is a stand out host!

Very close to the beach, views are better than the pictures, short walk to restaurants and cafes. Off street parking was great. Really appreciated Michael meeting us as we checked in and being accessible for any questions. Apartment is spacious and new.
We also appreciated being in a quieter part of Chania, but still able to walk into the center of town.
Noting - great place to stay, would recommend!

Beautiful apartment with wonderful ocean views and four balconies. Both the apartment and building were spotless and everything from laundry to check-in to parking was very convenient. We would definitely go back again!
