We had a really lovely stay at The Postcard Hideaway, Netravali. The property is beautiful, surrounded by lush greenery, birds and wildlife. We particularly appreciated how thoughtfully the cottages have been built to blend into the natural surroundings without disturbing the habitat.
Our room was very comfortable, and it was the little things that made the stay special - the vintage rotary phone, the daily surprise gifts that we actually looked forward to, and the effort made to arrange a firm mattress and memory pillow for me. The gifts brought back fond memories of our stay at Oberoi Vanyavilas, Ranthambore.
We thoroughly enjoyed the food, especially the Goan thali. It was also nice of the chef to prepare dal khichdi and idli on request. The spa treatments were excellent, and our nature walk with Karishma was particularly enjoyable, thanks to her knowledge and enthusiasm.
But what we’ll remember most is the warmth of the people. Deepak George Thomas and his team made us feel genuinely welcome and well looked after. A special mention to Aryan, Francio, Narmada and Gaurav Patil, who were always cheerful, helpful and attentive.
It’s these small, thoughtful gestures and personal touches that make a holiday memorable. We left with some wonderful memories and would happily recommend this lovely property to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway in Goa.

The staff were extremely polite and helpful, and the guest cottages were maintained to a high standard. The location surrounded by nature and monkeys creates a very relaxing escape from the busier parts of India. It is a great place to truly unwind. The SPA services were excellent – the massage was very professional, with great attention to detail and a beautiful, calming environment. We were forced to shorten our stay by one day and, although the reservation was non-refundable, the hotel manager tried to find some way to compensate us, which we appreciated. However, in the end, we did not receive any actual compensation, even for the missed breakfast.
Despite the beautiful surroundings, our stay left a bitter impression. Every service, restaurant meal, or additional activity comes at an extra cost, with prices being roughly 3–4 times higher than expected. It created a feeling that, despite paying a high price for the room, we were constantly being pushed to spend more money and felt more like walking wallets rather than guests of a luxury hotel. It also felt like part of the hotel chain’s general policy – for example, even in the restaurant, waiters would immediately suggest sparkling water, which is significantly more expensive. It gave the impression that the definition of luxury at this hotel is charging guests for everything possible. Additionally, the pool lounge was unavailable for an entire day without any compensation from the hotel. Similarly, after shortening our stay, no meaningful gesture or convenience was offered.
