The beach was close by and a great place for walking adventures. We toured over to Coiba and this location was walking distance to our tour boat. The local folks are super friendly and patient with hoards of tourists in February.
This place is not for weak folks. You must lug your stuff up a narrow steep set of stairs. Power outages are very common here. The community kitchen had inadequate supplies, plan to bring your own cup, utensils and bottled water. As with most of rural Panama chickens, roosters and dogs run wild and free. In our double private room here at Sunset Catalina they all converged nightly under our window. Non stop dog barking and rooster crowing.
