Extremely Disappointing Stay – Misleading Charges, Poor Cleanliness and Unacceptable Standards

Location 🤦🏻‍♂️

Unfortunately, SAV Apartments fell far below the standards I expected. Having stayed in several properties while visiting Loughborough, I can confidently say this was one of my worst experiences. From the confusing booking process and unexpected charges to the shocking cleanliness and poor condition of the apartment, the entire experience was extremely disappointing. Let’s start with the misleading booking process. I specifically searched on Booking.com for properties that allow dogs, and SAV Apartments appeared in the results. I went ahead and booked a non-refundable stay to benefit from the discounted rate. However, after completing my reservation, I kept receiving messages from SAV Apartments directing me to complete another booking or check-in process through their own system. During this process, I asked how much it would cost to bring my dog. To my absolute shock, I was told there would be an additional £150 charge! 😱 As if that wasn’t enough, I was then asked to provide my bank details for a £250 security deposit to cover any potential damage to the apartment. Another unpleasant surprise! 😱 These additional charges should have been made absolutely clear before committing to a non-refundable booking. It felt like one unexpected expense after another. Now, let’s talk about the apartment itself. Unfortunately, cleanliness is clearly not their strong point! 🧹 The moment I arrived, I felt the need to photograph everything because I was genuinely concerned about being held responsible for damage that was already there, particularly after being asked for such a substantial security deposit. Even before entering the apartment, the exterior door was filthy and surrounded by cobwebs. Sadly, things didn’t improve once we stepped inside. Here is what we found: * Damaged walls and poorly maintained interiors. * Dirty curtains and blinds. * Broken shelves inside the fridge. * A dirty, unpleasant-looking sofa. * Bedding that did not appear properly cleaned.

Terrible - that bad we cancelled as soon as we arrived and contacted the owner and booking to request refund.

Nothing it was filthy, as per photos and videos sent to booking and owner. Formal complaint raised with booking.com customer service department.

It was the worst property we have arrived at - that bad that we could not stay in property. Absolutely filthy.

When a guest is staying more than three days please you can change the sheets and blankets

Nice decor, maybe needs a little touch up in places,

Needs more cooking utensils and frying pan warped. Stayed there twice now and clock is wrong so needs new battery. Could do with 2 extra softer pillows.

Large and nice apparment with all amenities.

Unfortunately ,we missed an email with instructions. When we arrived we were locked out. On contacting the office, we were told to pay £150 like deposit. And had to wait outside for sometime. The heated towel rail in the bathroom had been left on and was super hot. In the small bathroom, contact was made resulting in second degree burns. Be careful!
