The apartment is excellent: very well situated and very well equipped with modern kitchen and bathroom and extremely comfortable bed. The hosts, Giovanni and Rosa, were very kind and helpful in many ways, including waiting for us in a parking spot near the house and marking on a map how to find our way round Matera and the best places to visit. They really helped us, and all their recommendations (including restaurants) were excellent and meant that we were able to see lots of important and interesting places in the 24 hours we spent in Matera - a fabulous place.
There was nothing we didn't like. It was all lovely.

We really enjoyed our stay. The hosts were lovely, very friendly and welcoming, and they gave us helpful guidance on getting around Matera and making the most of our visit.
The location of the property was excellent. It was only about a three-minute walk from one entrance to the old city and around seven minutes from the other, making it very convenient for exploring Matera. Matera Centrale bus station was also only about a 12–15 minute walk away.
Giovanni and Rosa gave us some excellent recommendations for local restaurants, and we really enjoyed the food at the places he suggested.
The room itself was clean, comfortable and well maintained. Overall, we had a very enjoyable stay and would happily book this property again if we return to Matera.

Proximité immédiate du logement avec la vieille ville de Matéra. L’accueil de Giovanni et de son épouse était parfait. Ils nous ont aidé à stationner car l’appartement se trouve en limite de ZTL et nous ont ensuite donné tous les détails pour optimiser la visite du site. L’appartement se trouve dans une rue calme, est très propre, et dispose de toutes les commodités dont notamment un très grand lit.
L’appartement se trouve en rez-de-chaussée, ce qui est inhabituel pour nous.

Casa Nannina was ideal for our one-night stay in Matera - a clean, comfortable, well equipped and very reasonably priced base to explore the ancient city. It would also be a great choice for a longer stay, with a dining table and good kitchen facilities.
Giovanni and his wife Rosa were very kind and welcoming. They communicated well over WhatsApp, and used a translation app in person to overcome any language barriers, providing some fantastic tips on where to go in the city to make the most of our stay. They even showed us where to park and moved their car to give us their space. Lovely hosts!
Only a minor issue for us, but there was no hot water in the shower in the morning. There was hot water in the evening, so I’m not sure if the guests downstairs may have just used it up before us, or if there was a temporary issue.
Everything else was excellent though. Some reviews mention a small shower, but my husband is 6’1” and had no issues.
