Character location comfy beds great tea and coffee in rooms
Very very small room in Blackcap at such a high price but staff brilliant in allowing us to swap to
Bloomsbury which was a great room

Friendly young staff, who responded to our requests efficiently. Room small but generally well presented
Unfortunately one bath towel was heavily stained ( changed immediately on request) lighting stark and would have benefitted from perhaps complementary biscuits, which is the norm at even more “budget” accommodation. Not all breakfast options were available on the morning of our stay though what was on offer was still varied and high quality.

The food was excellent, both dinner and breakfast. We liked the character of the old pub too
Our bed was uncomfortable and the property could have done with a good clean. The barman wasn’t very friendly, not what you expect in hospitality.

Bloomsbury was a beautiful room with great bed, large and tasteful. No stand alone shower. Above pub terrace so no bed time before pub empties.
Breakfast a slow start at 9am. Why not 8am? Otherwise breakfast was good.
