I originally booked into one of bush tents, there was a lot of construction and renovations on the property, so lots of movement and noise. i was upgraded to one of the new suites in the new development and it exceeded my expectations and was very neat, clean and well designed and decorated. was loverly to sit at night on the veranda overlooking the pond. it will definitely be a nice and relaxing get away once the development is complete. I tried to rebook 2 weeks later on a return trip but unfortunately, you were fully booked. st was excellent with an array of choices, lived up to all expectations
ongoing Renovations , but in hindsight it will be a wonderful upgrade to the lodge.

The staff was very welcoming and gave is an excellent services, From check in time we felt at home because of their warm welcome. Bongani who took is to our room, Saturday he was serving us by the bar, he didn't get tired of our complicated orders for drinks, he is a very patient and sincere gentleman. There's another Bongani by the reception who was always ready to greet with a smile. Nomvula who assisted us at the dinner on Friday night is so kind and sincere. The game drive was so exceptional with Malome I forgot to ask his name, Hes an elderly, took us for an evening drive 4-7pm, I didn't expect to know how to mix the tanqueray gin but hey. We stopped by the lake where we saw hippos and he did magic, he was very determined to dig out animals that were hiding. We saw all the big 5, shout out to malome.
You only get 2 bottles of water on arrival(500ml), after that you have to pay for every 500ml they put in ur room. I was disappointed that I had to pay for drinking water after spending a lot of money on accommodation and other things there in the lodge. Water is essential, is a basic. I understand paying for other thinks but water when am a paying guest?? Water is basic, that time the 500ml is not R5 or R10 hey... so if you are to visit be ready to pay R500 ti drink water for a weekend, that's to get to drink at least 2litres that is required by our body.
Another thing our shower was not draining properly down there, even though we had our flops on water would go above their level while taking a shower, risk for fungal infections hey, we had to go and talk to Bongani at the reception to ask for intervention.
There was construction going on for renovations and building more rooms, it was a weekend so the could have done the part of the job that didn't have noise during that time or at least do the noisy part during the day, I woke up at 3am Saturday morning thinking I heard a lion roar whereas it was an excavator busy till sunrise, lucky enough Sunday night the rain was drizzling, they couldn't work in rain and that's when I slept like a baby.
