Lovely pool area, good breakfast, comfortable and clean room.
It’s walkable into Sandakan harbour but easier to get a Grab.

We had a wonderful stay at Sabah Hotel, where the friendly welcome set the tone for a beautiful, clean, and relaxing experience. The location is excellent — close to the city centre yet just off the main highway, making it easy to find and convenient for exploring. The swimming pool was absolutely stunning, and we had so much fun floating our blow‑up drink holders around with cocktails in hand, surrounded by waterfalls, slides, and palm trees swaying gently in the breeze. Breakfast was lovely, made even more memorable by watching a monitor lizard wander calmly around the grounds, reminding us that the hotel is nestled right in the jungle with all its soothing natural sounds. Our room was clean, comfortable, and cared for daily by wonderful service staff, and the welcoming chips, nuts, and fruit basket were such a thoughtful touch. A truly enjoyable stay we’d happily recommend. Ps don’t forget to take in the amazing war memorial park to reflect our Aussie and English fallen soldiers and our Malay friends who gave up their lives for our mens.
