Exception location, friendly staff, free snacks with drinks and the room and facilities were well above the 3* rating, should be a 4* hotel. We'll be back again next year.
Can't fault them, they allowed us to check in early, room was huge, kids and family happy. :)

I enjoyed a very pleasant three-night stay at Hotel De L'Univers and would happily stay there again when visiting Saint-Malo.
The hotel's greatest asset is its excellent location within the old walled city. From the moment you step outside, you are surrounded by the history, atmosphere and charm that make Saint-Malo such a special destination. Restaurants, shops, cafés and the waterfront are all within easy walking distance.
My room was clean, comfortable and perfectly suitable for a short stay. While it was not particularly luxurious, it provided everything I needed and was a welcome retreat after long days exploring the city and coastline.
The staff were welcoming and helpful throughout my visit, and the hotel had a friendly, relaxed atmosphere that made me feel at ease.
Overall, this is a well-run hotel in an outstanding location. If you are looking for comfortable accommodation in the heart of Saint-Malo, it represents excellent value and provides an ideal base from which to discover this beautiful historic city.
