The garden is fantastic
Some empty bottles left behind by contractors around areas which are not easily seen by guests

I liked how peaceful and relaxing it felt. The beautiful surroundings, comfortable room, friendly staff, and quiet atmosphere made it a perfect place to unwind and enjoy some time away.
Everything was lovely overall. It would be even better to have more activities available at the resort, but it was still a peaceful and enjoyable stay.

The Merlin resort is an affordable option in Khao Lak. It is well located in the village so you have easy walking distance to restaurants and shopping. The breakfast was varied and fresh with lots of options. The staff were helpful and spoke good English.
While the hotel served our purpose, it is an enormous compound. We were given a room on a top floor in a corner of the resort next to the garbage and water facility tank so it smelled all the time. We also found that because the resort is so big, it is impersonal and overbuilt on the land it claims to protect.
