Can recommend

Good location to Whirlpools. Huge room.

7 / 10

A nice seaside hotel with walking access to nearby sights.

The room and bath size was quite generous with spectacular views of the ocean. Nice to have a quiet beach in front of the hotel though the tour bus parking in front was not ideal. We really enjoyed the public baths with their equally lovely views. Access to the museum and nice walk to the observation platform was excellent. The breakfasts are very traditional Japanese (very nice) with no western options.

The staff had minimal english speaking skills and we were not prepared for having to take a bus over to the sister hotel for the dinner meal. The buffet at the sister hotel was Okay but having to dine based on the shuttle schedule was not great. Carpets and ac/heat units need to be replaced which is not surprising since it is an older facility.

7 / 10

Enjoyable

The location was very convenient for the whirlpool observation walkway and strolling along the beach. The room was large and the bath had a sea view, although one would need to be careful not to expose oneself while opening the window to enjoy the view from the bath. The food was tasty and the service attentive.

The room decor felt a little dated and the room smelled a little bit of cigarette smoke. Also because we were a little isolated, the meal prices were a little higher than normal. It would have been nice if the different onsen pools were at different temperatures rather than all the same.
