We had a wonderful stay! The team is so attentive and kind. Both homemade breakfast and dinner were delicious. On our last day, we had to leave early, and they thoughtfully prepared a takeaway breakfast box for us. We truly appreciated the thoughtful touch!

Dar Seffarine felt very palatial. We were not expecting our room to be as spacious as it was. We felt like royalty - there was with lots of natural light, beautiful antique decor and a very efficient AC unit for that one extremely hot day we experienced whilst in Fes. They also have a wonderful Terrace (great for both sunrise and sunset) and it's all in the heart of the Medina.
Breakfast was communal with other guests but a lovely touch with a big spread. We stayed 3 nights so breakfast was a bit different every day. On our last day, we needed to leave early but the staff were kind enough to leave a to go box for us to take on the bus. We also chatted with Kate for a long time on the history of the property which is a beautifully restored historic home. Made our trip to Fes so much more memorable
This has absolutely nothing to do with Dar Seffarine.
The medina closes after sunset prayers or by 6 pm (in OCT when we visited) at which point all the streets and alleys look the same. Some streets have legit wardens we were told by some other travellers but we mostly encountered young men (usually one on every alley) telling us that we are going the wrong way, the path is closed, its private or a dead end or that we were walking straight into a mosque, in the hopes to 'rescue' us for a tip by 'showing us the right way'. Just use Google maps or speak to the very friendly, always available hotel staff about your goings and comings. Alternatively, know that some restaurants will offer an escort to their restaurant and back after dinner - they pick you up, walk with you to dinner and back to your hotel after and you tip the gentleman after. Its hassle free and they know all the shortcuts!

Could not recommend this riad more. The most dreamy room, rooftop view, perfect location and most attentive staff. You have to stay here if you come to fez!

Architecturally, this dar is absolutely stunning. It is a incredibly cool, beautifully restored property that captures the magic of Fes. The atmosphere is wonderful and filled with gorgeous details that make you feel like you've stepped back in time. Visually and atmospherically, it completely lives up to the expectations.
Unfortunately, the customer service left a lot to be desired. We found them to be generally indifferent to our needs during the stay and at one point were stuck outside for 45 minutes waiting to be buzzed in.
