The property is located in the gorge and close to the end of the road offering more privacy than other properties in the Asahidake Ropeway area. The property has an indoor and outdoor onsen (small, but it works) which pipes water in from the Tenninkyo Gorge hot spring. There is a beautiful waterfall easily accessible by a 15 minute walk. We did this in winter so it took a bit longer but it is a flat-ish walk.
Food was lovely in the morning and evening. The ryokan meal was tastefully presented and filled us up enough for our hikes during the day. As with most ryokans, and generally, Japanese hotels, they offered PJs or yukatas to use when on property.
The hospitality and friendliness of the staff was wonderful. It was not expected, but the staff cleared off our cars the morning of our departure as it was snowing steadily during the day and overnight.
Would highly recommend!

Das Personal ist super freundlich und u s hat übereascht wie gut alle English gesprochen haben. Der Onsen ist klein aber schön, und hat auch ein Aussenbad. Das Essen war auch sehr gut.

It's a beautiful location. The staff were very nice.
The onsen did not feel clean. Also they are doing some major construction - not the hotels fault - at the end of the valley which destroys the peace.
