I had a pleasant stay at Hotel Sirius.
The location is very convenient, especially when travelling without a car. The bus station is nearby, and restaurants, little shops, and the cable car down to the beach are all within walking distance.
The hotel itself is not the newest, but it’s well maintained, with an interesting style and lovely details. My room was quite simple but clean and comfortable. I especially enjoyed the balcony with its beautiful sea view, a lovely place to sit and relax.
The pool area was also very nice and comfortable, perfect for enjoying some time in the sun.
The staff were friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help.
The hotel is a little dated, and for a similar price I stayed in more modern hotels in other parts of Sicily. However, considering that Taormina is such a popular tourist destination, the price is understandable.

The property was immaculately clean. The room was comfortable and had wonderful views. The staff was extremely responsive and friendly.
The hotel is built into a mountain so there are many stairs and a winding incline to walk down and up to access or leave the property. If you are a person who has trouble walking stairs or steep hills, this may be an issue. The elevator inside the hotel is quick and efficient, so once you’re inside there aren’t many stairs (but there are still some stairs to navigate from the lobby to the elevator, and also stairs from the elevator to the pool).

The views at this hotel are stunning, the pool was large & deep & there were plenty of loungers around the pool.
The reception staff, pool staff and general support staff were a pleasure.
The hotel manager was AWFUL. My sister had morning sickness so I brought myself a coffee & her a tea to our room from breakfast. Unfortunately I knocked my coffee off the table on the balcony & smashed a cup. The coffee fell on a couple of hand towels we had drying outside.
I called the reception immediately and they kindly sent up one of the cleaning staff who swept & mopped for us. We popped the two towels on the floor of the bathroom.
When we returned to the hotel a few hours after lunch, the manager of the hotel asked me what room I was in when I passed reception. When I confirmed he told me he “had something” for me. He then threw a plastic bag with the towels in which had coffee on them and told me ‘I must pay’ - very rudely and aggressively. I immediately apologised, told him it was an accident and confirmed that I’d be happy to pay for the damaged towels. Despite this he continued to berate me about the towels in front of the entire reception and other guests. I calmly explained it was an accident and that I’m happy to pay but he kept stating that I’d done it on purpose.
His behaviour is disgusting and I’ve seen other reviews calling this out. To note, on arrival our room was not ready until 3.30pm (despite check in being at 2pm) but we didn’t mind and waiting around the pool until it was ready and didn’t complain.
I would not stay at this hotel again with such a rude and aggressive manager which is such a shame as the other staff were so lovely & accommodating.
The location was great, however the steep hill couldn’t be managed with someone with disabilities / mobility issues.
The breakfast was basic.
