I was so impressed with this hotel and its wonderful employee, Ava. she went above and beyond when there was a mistake in the booking on my end and we did not have two single beds , making sure that our needs were met by upgrading us and only charging for the additional linens and breakfast. Also, we did the wine tasting, and if you have a chance, I highly recommend it. Because there was an event over the weekend, the normal sommelier was not present, so Ava told us we would not have a saw. Aliyah and Phil gave us the wine tasting. She could be a Somalia, her knowledge and understanding of wine was superb. This is simply a charming place, with staff who truly care about their miss. And the breakfast was one of the best ones we had.In Slovakia. Truly a great find.

The staff were friendly and helpful.
There is a lift in the building.
There are plenty of (paid) parking spaces behind the building.
The hotel’s location on the town’s main square is brilliant!
The room was spacious, practically furnished and well lit.
Breakfast offers a wide selection, and various egg dishes are freshly prepared on request.
The building itself is quite ‘old’ in terms of its structural condition.
The furniture in the rooms is just as old.
The bathroom taps probably date back to the last century; there are two handles for cold and hot water and you have to mix them yourself, which is a faff and wastes quite a bit of water.
The reception is normally only staffed until 6 pm; I was very lucky that the receptionist stayed on longer that day.
All in all, I find it incomprehensible how this hotel could have received such a high rating on booking.com. I spend between 30 and 40 nights at the hotel every year – mainly on business. A rating of over 9.0 promises an exceptional standard by international standards, but that is not what is on offer here.
