The location is beautiful and the grandeur of the Hotel. Roberto was fantastic with Customer Service.
Sound proofing between rooms wasn't great. Also the upholstery on soft seating needs a great deal of attention. Very old and out dated. Needs splashes of rich colour.

Wonderful and very charming Hotel with a spectacular view over Varese & Lago di Varese. The room was spacious and spotlessly clean. The staff was very welcoming and friendly. Dining at the Restaurant is recommened!

The location of the hotel is quite impressive. You can have a quiet morning with stunning panoramic lake view, surrounded by a lovely garden, with city centre being 10 minutes from the hotel. Hotel provides wide range of services, being swimming pool, sauna, massage, and very lovely restaurant. Hotel staff, especially maids, are very friendly and attentive.
Probably, 50 years ago, it was an outstanding hotel. But, unfortunately, in it's current state, it looks almost faded. You can definitely see that the hotel tried to make everything look classy. The problem is "to look classy" and "to be classy" are two different things. Most of the facilities, though looking pleasant on the first sight, are in desperate for renovation, or at least a basic maintenance. Stains on the walls, dirty curtains, cracks in ceramic and caulk residue in the bathroom leaving not the best impression even for a medium-price hotel.
Being on the top of the hill have it's benefits, but also introduces a lot of problems, especially on rainy days, if you do not have car.
Breakfast seems a bit poor, especially lacking fresh vegetables and vegetarian options.
