Nice hotel with a historical building and nice pool. The downside is that the furniture needs renovation, pillows are non comfortable, the bathroom sinks are noisy and hard to open. Also, we paid for extra occupancy but we get only one bottle of water.

An exceptional hotel. We had a very spacious room with a balcony and an amazing view. The breakfast choices endless and yummy. The hotel is on top of a hill and away from downtown. If arriving by train, you will need to take a taxi (only 13-14 Euros). The hotel has a complimentary van to and from downtown twice in the morning and twice in the afternoon, you just need to have them add you to their list. Gorgeous gardens and hotel grounds are picturesque, with a nice cocktail bar and a very pleasant outdoor restaurant. The dinner menu not too extensive, however some very unique items and everything was delicious. The staff is superb, both at the front desk and in the restaurant - very professional, super respectful and going above and beyond to meet any request. Our son was there for a couple of days with a large group of students. Varese was their final city in a 1-month class abroad. My husband and I arrived separately and stayed at the same hotel. Since our son's birthday was the day after, we ordered some cakes for his whole group from a local baker the last night of the visit. The baker was running so late, we did not know if she would show up at all - and we had a whole bunch of students waiting. It was already a few minutes after the restaurant's closing time, but the assistant manager took my sudden order for 25 desserts and had them served within 10 minutes. Literally saved the evening and my son's friends said the desserts were the best they've had in Italy all month.

This is a unique property set on a hilltop overlooking Lake Varese. It is very peaceful and truly a grand property that has old meeting new. The hotel is a historic property so note that it has all that is charming and wonderful about being an older property and don’t expect the latest smart tv, etc. The pool area is fabulous and we enjoyed the meals at both the hotel dining room and pool bar area. Highly recommended!
