It was relaxing and comfortable with a slightly funky vibe. The staff was great! It was nice to be in a quiet area that was a nice stroll to the main areas.

This is a fantastic small boutique hotel in a great location overlooking a large private garden

We enjoyed our two night stay at the Ad Astra. The neighborhood is great - away from the tourist hordes, yet walkable to all the sites. The staff is friendly and helpful, and breakfast on the terrace overlooking the gardens was lovely. The hotel is quiet and peaceful. Our room was spacious, clean and well-equipped.
Really our only complaint about the room was the air conditioning. The weather was hot (35c during the day) and the air conditioning was not adequate for the room. Even with maximum cooling turned on all day and night, the room was still 25C when we went to bed - too warm for a good night’s sleep. One other small thing: though the hotel looks out on the stunning Torrigiani Gardens, the gardens are private and access is strictly prohibited.
