The County Hotel

What a fabulous place to stay! Spacious, light and airy room. Comfortable - indeed yes. Breakfast, bar and resturant - brilliant! Excellent staff - very 'customer focussed'!! A great location in a lovely town, fantastic walks for amazing views.

Our stay was perfect - thank you.

Friendly welcoming staff. Clean room with plenty of tea/coffee. Good breakfast included.

The only problem was that it took me longer than I'd have liked to get a satisfactory response to my telling staff that the room radiator wasn't working (probably just needed bleeding). After an hour or so we were moved to a warmer and nicer room, so all fine in the end.

Spacious & comfortable: Huge room with a massive, comfortable bed. Loved it! Separate seating area: Perfect for relaxing with a cuppa. Excellent bathroom: Generously sized, double sinks, powerful shower and lovely heated towel rails. Cleanliness: Room was clean and very comfortable. Entertainment: TV worked well, although a smart TV would be a bonus. Food: Chicken shawarma and chicken burger were tasty and filling. Breakfast omelettes and egg on toast were equally delicious, with generous portions. Bar: Decent selection of regular drinks and ales.

Bedside sockets: No plug points beside the bed, which was inconvenient. Parking: No onsite parking, although staff helpfully directed us to a free space nearby.

Breakfast was good. Rooms were good. Evening meal when it arrived was good. Hotel restaurant was very busy (for a Monday evening, this is a good sign). Unfortunately, some of our preferred menu options were no longer available. Staff did apologise. However, our final bill was incorrect, and had to be reprinted.
