Location. Atmosphere. Decor. The lift. Menu. Wine choice.
The internal steps especially into bathrooms. I went with a less mobile friend who struggled a bit. No fridge and for the price not the useful extras like face flannels.
Even if I didn’t want room made up fresh water would have been nice.

Bedroom and bathroom were renovated to a high standard.
The breakfast was good and the staff were universally pleasant, helpful, and efficient.
The signage and the parking. We drove past several times because the hotel is poorly signed. Checking in requires being lucky enough to find a paid parking space nearby. There is a small private lot behind the hotel, with a tight entry and little room to maneuver, where we were lucky to find a spot .
We found the Wifi connection difficult and very slow.
