The staff were so kind and friendly! We had a great stay and the neighborhood was lovely. Very close to the extremely scenic garden of the oranges.

Great location if you are able to walk easily to buses and metro
No cafe or bistro or restaurant immediately close, but many just a few blocks away

Gorgeous old-world style property with gracious grounds and interiors. Lovely location on the Aventine Hill at a slight remove from Rome’s chaotic heart. But close enough to walk to many of the historic sites. Loved it!

this hotel is beautifully situated and in a very quiet neighborhood, which I like. My husband and I have stayed before in hotel san anselmo (a sister property) and I have to say that hotel aventino did not live up to its standards. That being said, it was perfectly adequate
in a general sense, everything needed an updating. My hairdryer had a part missing, so it hung uselessly. It would be better to remove it altogether, it just hung there as a reminder of better days. .Again, nothing serious, but an air of being the unwanted child. My main concern was the laziness of the people at the front desk. I am in my 70s, traveling alone with a suitcase and using a cane. The front door opens into several steep stone steps. I can manage it; if I couldn’t, I wouldn’t have come. But it astonished me to watch the person at the front desk, EVERY TIME I came in or left, just watching me struggle with the door and then to maintain my balance at the top step. Not once did it occur to any of them to get up and help. Ditto checking into my room. I got the minimal amount of information and then was ignored, leaving me to find the elevator, find my room, figure out the lights, figure out how to turn down the AC, etc etc. I travel a lot; this is most unusual! Not a deal breaker at all, but I did not feel welcome
