We had a lovely stay at Montagu Country Hotel and thoroughly enjoyed the unique charm of this beautiful Art Deco property. Our room was spacious and thoughtfully laid out, with a well-equipped kitchenette for self-catering, a dining area, a comfortable lounge space, and an outdoor patio.
The hotel itself is full of character, with its distinctive Art Deco décor creating a unique and welcoming atmosphere. The location is excellent and makes it easy to explore Montagu and the surrounding area.
A particular highlight was the onsite spa, where I enjoyed two fantastic massages. The hotel also has two swimming pools, which were perfect for cooling off during the warm weather and provided a wonderfully refreshing experience after a day of exploring.
Overall, it was a relaxing and enjoyable stay, and we would happily return.
These were only minor observations and did not detract from our overall experience.
The outdoor patio could perhaps benefit from a little more screening to provide additional privacy, although this wasn't an issue for us as we spent much of our time out and about.
The room was generously sized, but the TV placement felt somewhat unusual, being positioned off-centre on the wall. This made it difficult to watch comfortably from the bed.
The bathroom was lovely and well presented, but some additional storage, such as a small shelf or space for vanity bags and toiletries, would have been a useful addition.

Breakfast was good and the waiters were friendly. They checked on us regularly and always smiled we even spoke to the chef who was very friendly too. The toilet was clean and the shower was spacious and we could take nice hot showers when we wanted.
Carpets were smelly and needed a good deep clean. The stench of dirty carpets in the bedroom was overwhelming. the king size bed was very hard and uncomfortable. it would be better and more healthy to remove the carpets and put new main bed in room. A direct phone in the room to kitchen/reception would've been great for room service. Breakfast should've been included. Pillows were old and saggy which left me with a stiff neck. The jacuzzi we had to pay for and it was very small and dated fits two small people, the jacuzzi room needs better ventilation and is too small, felt like a dungeon.
