We arrived late and checkout early but from start to finish, it was everything it needed to be and nothing it didnt. Friendly & efficient checkin, bonus room upgrade to Room no.2 in main v.charasmatic pub building (hugely appreciated), very comfy & clean room, great shower and bath, quiet room, and a fantastic plant-based breakfast upon waking - thankyou and we’ll definitely be back for longer next time

Saw Amersham on a tv programme and liked the looked of it full of small cafes and old pubs etc.
The hotel was great,clean oldie worldie and full of character.
Our room was out the back in an annexed part of the building but was spacious and clean.
We ate at the sister hotel for Sunday lunch which was delicious.
Other meals we stayed “in”and were not disappointed either in quality or value for money.
The town itself isn’t full of the normal run of the mill shops not a Starbucks in sight😊

Although I’m not sure what you can do but the passage between the Bar and the restaurant is a bit scary where cars access the car park.

rooms were very clean and bed was extremely comfortable. the bar staff were very friendly and helpful
On arriving I was informed I had been upgraded to a better room.
So basically, i am 75, mobility is not great and the upgraded room was in the attic up many stairs and more importantly and with my H & S hat on, the top 4-5 stairs were dangerous for a person like myself.
the stairs turned at 90 degrees with no handrail to grab for support.
there were many stairs going to room 11, some stairs much higher than the standard stair height.
I think with hindsight, on registration when I arrived, the person checking me in should have made an assessment that the upgraded room was not appropriate for myself
