I enjoyed my single room for close to a dorm price. The location was perfect for me. 15 minutes to lovely beach. Great i could save on eating out with help of microwave toaster kettle and fridge soace. They even do the dishes!
It’s funky ( which I like ;)) carpet worn in my room but my own sink was handy and opens to courtyard with many plants. Ok for me but if you have mobility issues there are stairs to sleep level.

Property is a little tired on the interior, but I quite like that, very friendly staff, with a courtyard and kitchen, also a roof terrace.. this is no frills, cheap and central - I would stay again, a bit like staying at granny's house!

So the location is good, positioned as it is on the rua 25 de abril, surrounded by places to eat and drink. Slightly dark and dog legged entrance way leads to the first floor reception, having buzzed the bell I was checked in by a lovely staff member and shown my room. My needs were simple, I'd been walking part of the fishermans trail, had stayed in numerous places and was not interested in frills just a bed at a relatively inexpensive price. My first impression of the bedroom was, 'cute' windows were open , lovely breeze, pleasant view of the rua below, the room ( and Caravela generally ) had a kind of crumbliness about it, history, old wooden bedframe, attractive herringbone flooring ( that had long since become unglued from its substrate so slid a little underfoot ), old wooden wardrobe, basin in the room, telltale signs of bidet ( long since removed ) Shared bathrooms at the end of corridors, Essentially though I actually really liked this place despite it's signs of decrepitude. The shared kitchen facilities next to reception are basic, coffee machine and microwave if memory serves. There's a roof terrace affording nice views of the town. The bed was comfortable, staff pleasant and to quote the late Tim Curry 'it had a certain Naive charm' I'd stay there again!
I suppose the kitchen facilities could be better and certain fixtures and fittings updated but again I liked the price of the room and my expectations were very much met.
