Loved the location, the waterways and separate villa type buildings. The amenities were great and well fitted out.
The beds were hard and uncomfortable, the internal stair were very steep and narrow. One toilet upstairs too.

Large , two storey apartment.
No AC in the rooms. The apartment was dusty when we entered suggested it has not been opened for a long time.

Cute, picturesque and peaceful
It was obviously not booked out but we were put in the very last apartment, the furthest from anything the park offered. We had a partial hedge view from one door and a large piece of machinery parked outside the other This was very disappointing as we were staying 4 nights and had booked according to booking.coms pics of the place. Inside spacious, a little worn but the small balcony could not be sat at by 4 ppl unless chairs were turned sideways,

Great views of the lake from the 3 bedroom chalet and an excellent on-site restaurant. We had a delicious breakfast and dinner at the restaurant and our food was cooked perfectly and staff were excellent. Staff at the resort were also excellent and we enjoyed the tennis and table tennis and appreciated that all the necessary equipment for activities was easily available in the reception office. We did not use the swimming pool but everyone using it seemed to enjoy it. The size of the 3 bedroom chalet was great, even though our particular chalet was disappointing.
Our chalet seemed in desperate need of updating and deep cleaning. There was a mildewy smell (not the normal Rotorua geothermal smells) in our room, which seemed to be mainly coming from the washing machine. The washing machine was in the downstairs bathroom but the smells permeated the apartment into the upstairs bathroom as well. Furnishings were older and dated -- the chalet would be nicer with some newer furniture/tables/dishes. It would have been nice to offer a coffee maker or even a French press in the chalet, but there was only instant coffee and a kettle. Nowhere on booking.com or the hotel's website that we saw indicated that the chalet would not be serviced at all during our 4-night stay, so that was a surprise to us. Luckily, additional instant coffee, toilet paper, and dishwasher packs could be requested from the reception office. We think that these chalets are individually owned (there were for-sale signs in windows of other units) so while I would not recommend this particular chalet to anyone, it's possible that the owners of other chalets do a better job of upkeep.
