Beautiful apartment that needs just a little TLC

Beautiful self catering apartment right across the ocean. Just needs a slight bit of TLC and we good to come back again.

This unit the aircon was leaking. Pillows need to be replaced as they very flat. Master bedroom bed was also abit on the hard side. Other than that no other issue.

Disappointing

The unobstructed view was the highlight—and exactly why we chose this place.

While the staff at Saints View were friendly and the view from our unit was truly breathtaking, our overall experience was unfortunately far from satisfactory. We stayed in Unit 16, which offered a spacious main bedroom with direct access to the balcony, as did the living room. The kitchen appeared modern at first glance, but some of the glassware was not properly cleaned. The linen provided was below standard, with visible stains on several pillowcases and duvets. The ensuite bathroom had significant damp issues and stained walls, which appeared to be longstanding. A strong paint odour lingered for days, likely due to an attempt to cover the damage while the walls were still wet. Once the paint dried, a persistent mildew smell emerged. The bathroom door had been recently replaced but was only painted on the hinge side and still bore fingerprints and dirty marks, suggesting it hadn’t been properly finished. The second bathroom was in slightly better condition, though the ceiling and cornice showed signs of patchy repainting. More concerning was a leak from the toilet that created a puddle behind it, eventually seeping into the hallway. Both the hallway and the adjacent room showed signs of rising damp. The safe in the unit had only one key, and the keypad was non-functional due to old, leaked batteries — clearly not a recent issue. Additionally, the cupboard housing the safe emitted an unpleasant odour reminiscent of cat urine. Another strange smell, similar to dog food, would intermittently fill the living area and kitchen, particularly in the late afternoon. During our 10-day stay, the bedding and towels were never changed, which was disappointing given the rate of R1,600 per night. While we understand that coastal properties may occasionally attract cockroaches, we stopped counting after spotting more than 35 — far beyond what could be considered acceptable. We are generally easy-going travellers and can overlook minor inconveniences, but the number and severity

View was breaktaking and service was good. We had a few incidents where things weren’t working but they sorted it out same day.

Furniture was old, sliding door kept coming off the rail, fridge wasn’t cold enough, microwave plate didn’t sit properly on the stand so didn’t rotate. Can’t play music and have fun even before 10pm. Not advisable for a family to go and have fun. It’s for people who want to just relax .
