The property layout, ambiance and decor were excellent. The room was spacious and contained all the amenities you could expect. The grounds added to the sense of top quality.

Beautiful resort, in well kept grounds, pools looked after well.

In my room was a lovely King size bed ,but at 5ft 3ins ,needed a step ladder to get into it .I had to use chair each night to climb up. Also breakfast was ithink very pricey

We have written this review as people who had not intended to stay at The Crane or even on Barbados and only ended up there after flight delays and missed connections and a good deal through an app. We booked on a night by night basis as we were ever hopeful of finding a flight out so our experience will possibly differ from others whose chosen resort was this one. To quote Miss Jean Brodie: "For those who like that sort of thing, that is the sort of thing they like." I imagine that holidaymakers who would actively choose to stay at a resort would be extremely happy with The Crane. Everything that one needs appears to be available. A good selection of restaurants, a coffee shop and bakery, direct access to a lovely beach and a variety of rooms and units to cater to all tastes. We chose one of the rooms with a small garden and pool and were very pleased with it. We had privacy, space and everything we needed. We were even able to use the washing machine and tumble dyer which, by this point, was much needed as we were away longer than anticipated. We ate at The Carriage House where the food and the service were good and had breakfast one day at The Azure. It was good quality with a varied selection but pricey. The service at breakfast was very pleasant.

The staff at The Crane appear to be be either excellent or terrible - nothing in between. We were helped by some professional, efficient, and personable people and also by some who have clearly never heard of the term 'Customer Service'. We were treated as second-class citizens by one receptionist in particular who dealt with us with an arrogance and disinterest that should not be witnessed in any level of hotel and certainly not one of this calibre. While we understand that our situation of having to check-in, check-out and then check-in again to a different room could possibly provide a level of irritiation and annoyance to those dealing with us, we were still paying guests and should have been afforded the same level of service and respect that those staying for 2 weeks would have been given. It was also made abundantly clear, that as we had booked through an app which offered a discount, that we were therefore not seen as being deserving of the same level of courtesy and service as if we had booked directly through Hilton. The second time we checked- in, we arrived early (having spent the morning at the airport trying to get a flight) and while we were aware that we couldn't check-in until 4pm, the fact that we were still sitting in the hotel lobby 3 and a half hours later at 5pm waiting on a room that we would have to check out off by 10am the next day was unacceptable. Fortunately, at this point we were treated to excelllent service by a member of staff who came to our rescue and kindly offered us an upgrade to a room that was ready, unfortunately we didn't want it as we had been looking forward to the privacy of the enclosed garden and pool. She then proceeded to ensure that our room was finally ready for us to move in to. We were, in all fairness, given some monetary compensation, however, the service we received only added to the already stressful situation we were in and for this reason we spent our third night at a different hotel.
