Wonderful location and beautiful, modern decoration. Breakfast was fabulous and staff very attentive. I loved the delicious welcome mezcal and the staff was very helpful in various ways. The courtyard is stunning, and decor for Day of the Dead was really playful and fun! Such a quiet hotel in the middle of the action!
The bathroom could have used a deep cleaning. The walls were very large but sparsely decorated in the room. They were beckoning for some of that beautiful Oaxacsn art and color to adorn them.

Staff and location of the hotel were excellent. Everything is within a 15 minute walk, although many things are 5-10mins away. Also, other helpful things are nearby too (pharmacies, bus lines, ATM's, courtyards, etc.). AC also worked well, the breakfast was good, quick and convenient, and staff helped arrange taxi services to the airport (since Uber isn't popular and Didi only had a moto taxi option). Although it's a bit dated in the rooms, the staff was some of the best i've encountered - even comparable to luxury hotels. We'll miss them, and our stay there. All of the staff was amazing. Extreeemely attentive, sincere, helpful, and hard working. I'd stay here again just because how pleasant they all were. They always madr sure we were taken care of and did little extras that they didn't have to do.
If being picky, the pillows were a bit firm and too large, but that's just personal preference.

Everything was great for a visit to Oaxaca City. The location is superb, room was very nice, breakast the best in town, and the staff kind and interested in helping in anyway they could.
It's located on the primary pedestrian street so loading and unloading luggage is a bit harder than in other locations but the hotel staff is available to help with the logistics.

Location couldn't be better and the room was large with good aircon, big comfortable bed, plenty of hot water and excellent WIFI. Staff were friendly and helpful and the hotel and room were clean
Furniture in the room was pretty cheap and in need of replacement (drawers not closing properly for instance) and was totally out of character with the age and style of the hotel in general. Safe in room only suitable for cash and passport, far too small for a laptop or tablet. The included continental breakfast was ok but having to sign for it every morning where you had to fill in the amount (nil) and tip was not acceptable. Its either included or not. Being effectively forced to tip every morning isn't something that guest should have to do. Main issue with hotel was the NOISE. The courtyard acted as an echo chamber and with every room opening out on to it this was a major problem. From 6am the staff arrive to set up for breakfast making noise, breakfast starts at 7am equalling more noise then to cap it all, loud music is turned on from 8am. Because they close the front door in the evenings (understand the reasons for this) and guests are not given front door keys (unlike many other hotels I have stayed in throughout Mexico) you have to use the knocker to be let in...more noise, particularly with late arriving guests. To be woken up at 11pm by drunk and loud guests shouting and laughing in the courtyard with no respect for other guests is not acceptable. Hotel staff should be aware of this issue and take action for the sake of other hotel guests. If this had been a low cost hotel then these issues, whilst still being unacceptable, would have been more palatable however this hotel is priced towards the higher end of properties in Mexico (ÂŁ80 per night for my stay) so I was not happy with my stay here and would not recommend this hotel.
