Room v. comfortable with pleasant view. Good but not excessive choice at breakfast and dinner and no attempt to make up for any lack of quality with quantity because the cooking was always beautifully judged. The food was a significant contribution to the pleasure of our stay. The staff were always obliging and friendly. One could always enjoy talking to them.

The library is a lovely place to read or work on a wet day. There is great attention to detail here, everything from the coffee to the shortbread is just right. The grounds are lovely for short walks.

Wonderful location in beautiful surroundings. A lovely building of style and grandeur.
No lift - but that’s really not important.
