It is a typical Japanese-style house, small but cosy and comfortable. The space is compact, but it has a warm and welcoming feel. It offers a lovely experience of staying in a traditional Japanese home, with a simple and charming atmosphere.
The air conditioner and furry dining-chair covers had unpleasant smells and need cleaning. The small dining table was uncomfortable for a family meal, making it difficult to fit everything and move around

Location is a short walk from the Hakone station and main street. Reasonable sized apartment, with comfy armchairs, a small table and plenty of room for sleeping. The shower was also very nice, actually had a shower rose as well as the hand showers that are more common in Japan.
The apartment is on a quiet street, but backs onto a road that heads to the main road. So there was bus and truck noise, which reduced at night.
You will hear every noise and footstep from the apartment directly above. We had a very large and noisy family staying upstairs, and had to put up with the noise of kids running and jumping in shoes for most of the time we were awake.

The space is great, clean and good size and location. Has a washing / drying machine very conveniente. Check in and check out was very easy. The host helpful and fast response.
We were in the first floor and the noise was very bad from the upper floor. Was like steps and furniture moving. It was waking us before 630am and contnue after 9pm.

If you need to stay in Hakone, the proximity of this villa to the train is excellent. It was also impeccably clean.
Terrible noise. This villa is the downstairs floor of a very small 2-storey house that has been converted into 2 x villas (upstairs and downstairs). The layout is very pokey, very odd. But the worst part is the acoustics. Our first night we lucked out and while we heard our upstairs neighbours it wasn’t too bad. For the next 2 nights we had a young family upstairs and the noise was like a soccer team practicing above your head. We should have known it was an issue when ear plugs are issued in the welcome pack. We would not stay here again.
