Lifts to rooms were slow taking 5-10 mins to arrive during peak periods

This hotel has definitely passed its peak and is in strong need of a brush-up. The switches in the room are outdated and the furniture looks as though it’s been around for 40 years. The breakfast room is unable to cope with the large number of guests, which can result in long waiting times. The location is great, but the hotel is in urgent need of refurbishment to live up to the standards expected of a Conrad.

Location is excellent
I wouldn’t rate as equivalent to other 5 star properties such as Marriott. Beds are really comfortable but bath plug was broken, only 1 water per guest providedand windows in bar were filthy. Breakfast was decent apart from the coffee. Staff cannot be faulted - they are really lovely and are the best thing about the hotel.
