The staff at Casa Fuster were all very friendly and helpful. Jun gave my family outstanding service, graciously finding early room availability for our younger daughter who arrived separately, mid-morning one day, following a long flight from Tokyo. I was not expecting this level of service, but it was really convenient for our plans that day. A warm "Arigatou Gozaimasu" and "Gamsahabnida" to Jun from the Kagami Family! I noticed that many of the Booking.com reviewers complain about the lighting in the breakfast room, but at the same time, perhaps fail to appreciate Casa Fuster's rich architectural history and background. Our family loved meeting for breakfast every morning. We enjoyed the ambience of this room very much and the food was tasty and well-prepared. The overall design and many intricate details of this monumental hotel created by Lluís Domènech i Montaner is not to be missed nor overlooked, and neither is the nearby Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau, also designed by Montaner. Barcelona would not be the same without these beautiful works of art! Again, "Gràcies" to the entire staff at Casa Fuster for making the days and nights leading to our older daughter's wedding ceremony near Sitges at the Almiral de la Font, very pleasant and memorable. Gracia is the best neighborhood to stay in while visiting Barcelona and Casa Fuster is of course...the best hotel!
The lighting and A/C switches, along with the bathroom layout and fixture interfaces/controls in our particular room could have been more intuitive and easier to use. We had a great view of the cityscape from our bathroom, though...and all things considered, we were upgraded to a much larger room for our 4-night stay.

Excellent turn down service with change of bath towels and complimentary chocolates.
Very helpful staff at door for help in facilitating taxi service especially on departure.
Staff helped with tickets to La Sagrada Familia.
Abundant complimentary water.
Almost impossible to modify thermostate. Room temperature exceptionally cold and couldn't easily modify it until the last day.
Toilet hard to flush.
Could not get cork out of complimentary bottle of wine; corkscrew not adequate for that job.

We had a junior suite which had plenty of space and after a room change had room 409 which has awesome views from its window/balcony down Passeig de Gracia (trendy up-market main street) and the Med in the far distance. (Make sure you ask for that one as our original room did not have views of significance). Its well located right on the edge of the cool Gracia barrio for tons of tapas / bars options as well as easy access to metro for other areas of Barca. Sagrada Familia is easy walking distance. Very swish roof top terrace with bar and small pool.
The grand old dame is getting a bit tired, and we had a very unpleasant experience with a plumbing problem that required a room change. Strangely, the staff were not pro-active (in moving us) and it seemed like this was a common issue... we moved rooms only after demanding a different room.

The location is excellent and the bars were really nice
I didn’t like that they didn’t give us access to the terrace unless we specifically requested it, which I had to do 3 times before someone came up to provide the key.
