It was a perfectly peaceful escape with lots of different birds along with a woodpecker feeding at the feeding station just outside the one-way glass patio door, a Heron and sheep in the next field, ducks fleetingly on the river. We were in the lodge that is separate to the main house with its own entrance and parking bay…. Spend our working lives dealing with people and it fitted the bill of not having to be seeing anybody if we didn’t want to. Nikki was lovely and there if we needed her, like when we first arrived and drank so much tea we needed more milk, but otherwise left us in total peace... just a great place to stay
If we were to be really really extremely picky, breakfast was just fantastic each day with orange juice, fruits, Greek yogurt, cereals, tea & toast along with an amazing cooked breakfast with the best bacon and eggs of your choice but if it would have been possible to easily slightly alter the cooked breakfast on the second day by way of a tick box sheet or??? that would have been amazing... we should have gone over to the house to ask but we didn’t as wanted complete peace after a stressful (selling our house) few weeks!!! so if you are reading this just ask Nikki and without doubt she will alter it for your second or third etc days!!!

Beautiful peaceful and quiet location with lots of different birds to see including long tailed tits, coal tits, great tits, blue tits and many other birds although the local kingfishers eluded us.
Lovely friendly host.
Balcony accessed from the room.
Delightful room with spacious bathroom.
Delicious breakfast.
Everywhere was clean and the bed was very comfy.
Fresh milk provided in the fridge in the room.
Fabulous places to eat in Dorchester which was a short drive away.
Fairfield car park in Dorchester, very close to Brewery Square, was free after 6pm.
Thank you for a lovely stay xx
