I was in the pūkeko room and the bed was absolutely fantastic. There is a big TV available. The shower was really powerful as well in the private bathroom. Kitchen was pretty good too. The property is beautifully laid out and you really feel like you are in a peaceful getaway. There are plenty of quirky decorations which gives it a homely feel. I had a magical time here and I would highly recommend staying here, there's even a nice cat on site!
Very nitpicky but I thought the private bathroom would be a bit closer to the pūkeko bedroom. Also it could get warm in the bedroom in the height of summer.

The house is quirky, eclectic and interesting, with lots of wood and charm. The garden is lovely and available to enjoy. The host was lovely and friendly. The shared kitchen facilities were good and clean.
The location is questionable. There is an incredibly steep driveway which is fine if you are young and fit, not it you are not. Lugging cases up and down an extremely steep driveway of about 30m is no fun. This was not clearly mentioned in the Booking.com advert. I checked the guesthouse website and it is mentioned right at the end of the writeup.
Although the advert mentioned a private bathroom, what is not clear, is that the bathroom is downstairs from the bedroom we stayed in, and through a common area, so going to the toilet at night down a rickety staircase, passing a kitchen was not comfortable.
