The meals we had at dinner were a high standard and looks like it was all cooked from scratch.
When we got to the hotel the staff wanted me to pay for our room that I had already paid for. Had to show them proof that I had paid for it on my banking app. We also got given the wrong room and they only realised half an hour later before they moved us. The hotel could do with a bit of TLC, carpet stuck down with staples on the landing and paintwork needs touching up. Just a bit run down. The service was really slow at dinner and breakfast. I had to go up to ask to be served and it wasn’t even full capacity. My partners breakfast came out cold and they also served people their breakfast first before ours when we were there before them.

Everything , especially the written timetable of how to make the most of my visit.. enjoyed the delicious free cake at 3pm after my walk to the castle and the river
