Location was perfect, hotel very exquisite, rooms on the smaller side - Japan Style. Good restaurant and perfect wine card.

The room was very accommodating. The location is about 8 min walk from the closest station. The breakfast was very western forward. Pastries, meats cheeses, salad, eggs breakfast meat. The star was always friendly and extremely helpful.

I caught the same restaurant worker enthusiastically picking his nose in the restaurant. Twice - on two separate days. Revolting. The first time was while I checked in so I gestured at him to stop, gently mentioned it to the front desk worker and left it there. The second was mid-breakfast service (appalling)! I walked out and told the desk staff, but nothing was done to fix it, aside verbally apologise and assure he would be spoken to. I explained that we could not use the buffet we paid ($30AUD) for in good faith as it’s unsafe, given their staff member’s compunction to to spread disease. I explained that we would now have to go elsewhere and pay twice for breakfast, but zero compensation was offered. The hotel did not so much as follow up - whatsoever.
I asked the front desk worker to check the cameras but they advised they do not have any in the restaurant. Evidently, this is an error as they are unable to monitor their staff’s conduct and food safety. I am disgusted and will never, ever return or recommend this hotel. This is a crying shame as otherwise, the reception staff were kind and helpful. I regret staying there.
The hotel’s proximity to rail transport is also disappojting (10 minute walk and change twice to get anywhere central) but I can only blame myself for that.
The toilet filled with foaming soap every single time one flushed. That is an egregious waste of resources and outright inappropriate given the climate crisis. I couldn’t figure out how to turn it off.
