Ruba, congratulations you were the best host. Meena as well. The house is set in an outstanding beautiful valley with tea and vegetables growing up the mountainsides. The meals were to die for. Super comfortable bed. Ruba took us on a walk thru the plantation and to his village. I picked some tea.
Nothing we didn’t like. It was amazing and I highly recommend staying here.

We had the best time at Warwick Gardens. It's a beautiful piece of gem tucked away inside the mountains. It's filled with history , colonial charm and quintessential Sri Lankan vibe.
Viji is an amazing host. He made us feel absolutely at home from the moment we landed until we left.
Getting there was a bit of adventure as it's a real maze to get there. The benefit of the place tucked away inside means you have to zig zag your way to get there.
Please be in touch with the staff and don't plan to land after dark.

The hotel is situated on a hill with a good view of the tea plantations
This is not a 5 or 4 star hotel standard - firstly the road leading to the hotel is not a tarmac road, full of potholes and poor signage. Secondly, the hotel itself is in need of maintenance, there were large patches throughout the building that needed painting over including the ceiling of the bathroom in our room.
The hotel manager greeted us wearing a casual cricket shirt and lead us to his office through the staff quarters and kitchen to check in - any hotel should have a check in desk, especially one claiming to be 5 starts.
A number of things weren’t functioning well in our room - the fire alarm was beeping, one of the bedside lamps wasn’t working and the bathroom lock was loose. This indicates further that the rooms are poorly maintained.
The dinner was overpriced and lacked Sri Lankan positions which as tourists was what we would have liked to have. The wine list was very expensive with all 4 red wines priced at c. $100 dollars a bottle without an option of having wine by the glass.
There is no wifi at the hotel. This would have been acceptable if there was some entertainment offered at the hotel such as a bar area, card or table games or TV in the room. None of these were available.
The hotel price we were charged isn’t commensurate with the standards that this hotel offered.
The only positive thing was the welcoming staff.
