Location and architecture design

We got much fitter here over three days walking up the steps to our room at the highest level of the property. The staff were exceptionally professional, warm and attentive. Particularly Akash and Manager Suranga. They helped us out with IT issues we had during our stay. The breakfasts were very nutritious and set us up for the day. Staff accommodated by preparing breakfast for us for our early checkout at 6:30am. Kavidu and his team / colleagues were so helpful and quietly attentive to our needs during breakfast. Our room was calm and bed was comfortable. It’s very close to town, a downhill walk into town and uphill walk back to hotel. The Views of Ella and Little Adam’s Peak were so relaxing from our balcony. The availability of umbrellas outside our room was a nice touch, given that it can rain here unpredictably. We had lighting issues in our room upon arrival which were promptly dealt with and a roof leak during heavy rain, which again was rectified within 24-36 hours. Staff were all very attentive and proactive without exception. The Ayurvedic Soa treatment was relaxing and invigorating. We didn’t get a chance to enjoy the pool and bar area this time unfortunately.

The location on a hill, without elevators, may not suit people living with disabilities. Face cloths/ face towels would be a nice addition in the bathroom.

There are so many steps. Getting from the Main Street to the actual hotel is a 500m 1:2 hike and then the rooms are stacked up the hill. Definitely not suitable for anyone with mobility issues.
