Honestly, we wanted to leave after getting there. The rooms looked worn out, it was noisy and yes, the staircase smells horrible (but has super cute feline inhabitants). But once you adapt to the local standards and maybe also stayed within a few other places to get a benchmark, you realize the quality of this place. This was by far the cleanest accommodation during all of our stay in Egypt. The shared bathrooms were cleaned several times a day. Also, very strong wifi. The AC was quite new and worked well.
The rooms to the front are pretty noisy. Since it's a continuous noise, it was far less disturbing to us than we would have thought but make sure to bring earplugs. Breakfast was tasty but for us too salty.
