As usual, free upgrade to a room with a runway view. Lovely bed and very clean and comfy room!
Breakfast good, Vivre restaurant good, too, but s bit on the expensive side.
Everything fine, except that the message that I paid extra for breakfast at reception never made it across the hall to the restaurant, even after complaining about it at reception.
And it’s happened to me before…
This is annoying and should not happen in a 4 star hotel…

We had an absolutely fantastic stay at the Sofitel Gatwick. The hotel is incredibly convenient for the airport, but it still feels calm, comfortable and properly luxurious once you’re inside.
The room was spotless, the bed was extremely comfortable and everything felt well maintained and thoughtfully presented. The staff were friendly, professional and helpful throughout, and the overall atmosphere made the start of our trip feel really special.
This stay will always have a huge sentimental value for us as it is also where I proposed to my fiancée, which made an already excellent hotel experience completely unforgettable.
I would happily stay here again before a Gatwick flight and would recommend it without hesitation.
The only small negative was that American Express wasn’t accepted for room service, which was a little surprising for a hotel of this standard. Other than that, I genuinely couldn’t fault the stay.

Property was good.
Our room was ok this time. We arrived at 1am we went to room only to find the kettle didn’t work. Had to press down on kettle switch continually to allow kettle to boil. There was an awful smell coming from sink in bathroom so had to make sure that plug was in place to prevent it from spreading into bedroom. The bedding felt damp as if it had been made up for sometime and left. The black units were faded and chipped. Very poor value for money this time.
